hmm, i'm hving a bout of insomnia it seems. and i almost gave my husband a heart attack when i went to look for him in the kitchen (he was up late doing some painting).
anyways, just some stuff i was thinking about, re: exams and all:
1) do try to leave the classroom immediately after you've been released by the examiner, remember that we're next to your Yr3 seniors, and their papers probably end later. You wouldn't enjoy it if they started making a ruckus while you are trying to finish your questions, right?
there are those among us who tend to forget themselves easily (ahem sito, ahem justin, ahem weixiang, ahem yan fong, ahem ahem ahem), and are almost 100% guaranteed to make noise but the rest of you don't have to participate. to put it bluntly
JUST SHADDAP AND GO!!2) just coz exam, doesn't mean classroom can dirty, ok? even though it's highly likely that the duty roster will be suspended for exam week, everybody should take the initiative to ensure that there is no rubbish on the floor and that the bins are emptied. As with point (1), since there will be no loitering in the classrooms after the exam, there will be no
eating or drinking there either. meals and snacks need to be consumed in the canteen only.
3) please try to take breakfast before you come to school. it would suck if you are unable to complete or concentrate on the paper due to an/a upset/rumbling tummy. but if you're lactose-intolerant, don't go drinking milk in the morning and find yourself LS-ing before/during the exam. Happened to me before, not pretty -_-
4)
do not bring correction tape, and be sure to leave your handphones/mp3 players in your bag and not in your pockets.
5) i speak from experience when i say this, because i've sat for more exams than you, but avoid exam post-mortems after the paper. what i mean is avoid discussing about the paper you've just sat for because there really is nothing you can do about it anymore. and beating yourself up over it will cause you to lose focus for the next paper.
6) start clearing out your desks this week. any items left under the tables on Thurs noon will find their way to the dustbin. I will be seeing to this personally. also, can the weds, thurs and fri table-and-chair-arranging-duty people please stay back on thurs after school to do the table arrangement. the rest of y'all, help out by leaving the class timely.
7)
must encourage each other, ok? some people might start acting weird, it's ok as long as not
too weird.
8) don't loiter around the school after the exam, faster go home and prep yourself for the next day's work. usually i bring the notes i need for the next day with me. comes in handy, esp on long commutes home.
9) get plenty of sleep, don't go burning no midnight oil, power not free, ok? you're more likely to blank out during an exam if you're sleep deprived.
10) PENS DOWN IS PENS DOWN. Listen to the invigilator. Do not move or turn to talk to your BFF until the invigilator sezs it's ok. the exam is not over until the papers leave the room.
gosh. i hope i can get some sleep now. very stressed ler, thinking about your exams. lol.
